    Thanks to all for contributing on this thread. This discussion has been
    very useful to me - and hopefully to many other developers - as it has made
    a section of Google's Content Policy a bit clearer to me/us. Even though I
    do not interpret (the following sentence of the Content Policy) "Product
    descriptions should not be misleading or loaded with keywords in an attempt
    to manipulate ranking or relevancy in the Store's search results." as
    "remove all your keywords from the description of your app", I will follow
    John's advice, and remove all keywords from all of my apps. Just to be on
    the safe side, and not risk having my apps removed. But I still wish that
    Google's Content Policy could have been somewhat more explisit, and not so
    hard to understand.

    Regards, Terry

    I don't think there is such a sample. Are you talking about
    HoneycombGallery?

    Sorry about the sloppy details.

    Yes, I mean the HonyCombGallery.

    I probably should learn the adb but IDEA is easy.

    I found emulator is much like the real device and I was able to uninstall
    the phone app by pressing and holding a mouse click on the apps' icon.

    Thanks for the feedback all.

    The question is "W*hy does it fail on 2.1*"?

    It could be as simple as changing this line in AndroidManifest.xml:

    * <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="8" android:targetSdkVersion="8" />*

    Or, it could be hard if you are using stuff 2.1 doesn't support.

    *What "api"? *

    API of Google Maps

    *Routes of what? *

    Routes between two points, like a GPS

    *
    He = Application, Points that Google generate between two geographic
    localization

    I go to try explain again.

    I have an application that gets the current position and the user selects a
    destination, these two starting locations, it queries Google:
    https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/directions/

    And get an xml with the places where I "turn" to reach the destination

    After I read the xml, and trace a path between first and second point of
    the xml, and so on

    Before the change of API, the path was perfect in the streets, but now
    appears like the image I posted

    Sorry but my English is not good

    If you're question is regarding the Google Directions API, then you will
    have to ask your question on a group or forum related to that API. This has
    nothing to do with Android.

    +1 it's pretty annoying to have people complain here (remember, this
    forum can in *no way* help get your app reinstated!) along the lines
    of

    If you are wanting to know the specifics, like under the hood stuff, then
    you should probably ask on one of the android source google groups, found
    here: http://source.android.com/community/index.html

    Other than that all you need to know is that it is a black box that
    works... Your receiver receives notifications of broadcasts from the OS.

    activity.requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_ACTION_BAR);

    activity.getWindow().setFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_DIM_BEHIND,
    WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_DIM_BEHIND);
    LayoutParams params = activity.getWindow().getAttributes();

    What do you mean by "think how text will appear in the particular shape"?
    It will appear inside the shape.

    What do you mean by "don't have textview id"? You can define the textview
    in XML... you would just have to set the background programmatically. So
    you would have an id.

    What does your getView() method look like? If your code is dependent on
    the number of times getView() is called for a particular position then you
    are doing something wrong in your code.

    Hmmm.... I don't really see anything wrong with your code. What version of
    Android are you testing this on? Did you test it on multiple versions?

    One thing I can think of is this: Rather than setting a click listener on
    your gridview, try putting a click listener on each photo in the
    gridview... It is less than ideal, but it might help you work around the
    issue.

    Look, you can take out that keyword list or watch your app be removed. Just
    because others, including Google Maps, does it, doesn't make it right. Play
    Store is cracking down on infringements of their terms and it's just your
    turn to be put in the cross hairs.

    It's really about time something was done about all the terms violating
    apps. They diminish the work of thousands of hard working and terms
    adhering developers.

    Yes you can use it try this :
    EditText editText;
    editText = (EditText)findViewById(R.id.editText);
    editText.addTextChangedListener(this);

    so you get

    @Override
    public void afterTextChanged(Editable s)
    {
    }
    @Override
    public void beforeTextChanged(CharSequence s, int start, int count, int
    after)
    {
    }
    @Override
    public void onTextChanged(CharSequence s, int start, int before, int count)
    {
    }

    I have an idea for that. Why don't you use database for that.

    Database should contain at least 2 tables - one will contain chapter name
    with no.(primary key)

    Other will contain the chapter no. as foreign key, and contents (one by one)

    Then, on clicking chapter name from the list, extract its no, and retrieve
    its contents using suitable query, and display them on next activity.

    With Regards,
    NSR..

    Hi there!
    I have researched and also posted this question on stackoverflow, but got
    not a single response :-(

    I created a rudimentary browser with help of a WebView.

    When I visit a website (containing some text and a few images), the cache
    directory in /data/data/com.mayexample/cache/webViewCacheChromium gets
    filled with a few files called index, data_0, data_1, data_2, f_00001,
    f_00002 etc.

    I was wondering, what's the format of these files, what do they contain?

    I thought about "so, a few of these files surely have to be the website's
    images then" and tried opening them in a file manager (open as image). But
    whatever file I pick, the process says "Failed loading!". Even if I rename
    some of them to .jpg, still I can't open anything. I have read on the
    internet that this worked for some people though (look at Android WebView -
    Load Images from cache<http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11274225/android-webview-load-images-from-cache>,
    it's exactly what I want to do), but I can't do anything with the cache's
    files.

    Do you know a way to open webview cache files? Doesn't one file represent a
    corresponding cached image for example?

    *What I really want to achieve* (once I understand the structure of the
    cache files) is to programmatically fetch images of the webview from it's
    cache, like the author of the link posted above (unfortunately this
    posting's answers don't help much).

    Any help/comments on accessing the webview cache appreciated!

    Hi, how about this:

    public int getMyNumber()
    {

    int min = 1;
    int max = 8;

    Random r = new Random();
    int i = r.nextInt(max - min + 1) + min

    switch(i)

    {

    case >= 5 && < 8: return getMyNumber()

    default: return i;

    }

    }

    Sorry I'm not at the position to try this out at the moment

    Hi I have created 6x6 edittexts (which cover 70% of the screen)in my
    application using gridview. So I used Adapter class to put that 36
    edittexts in the gridview. Below that I have arranged 10 buttons(which
    cover remaining 30% of the screen) named as 1-9 digits & C in order to
    create customized keypad. So that I can enter 1-9 digits in the edittexts(I
    also disabled the softkeypad). But my doubt is how to get the rowid of the
    edittext in which the cursor is present and in that edittext, my number( on
    which(buttons 1-9) I press) should be taken as input. At the end of the
    time, I have to retrieve all the values. So, my question is about the ids
    of editexts and number placing. Without Ids I tried to get the current
    edittext in my activity class. But I am unable to enter any input in the
    edittext when I press custom keypad buttons. Any help would be greatly
    appreciated. Thanks in advance. Below is my code.

    }

    When I print the "current" object in the activity class, I am getting null in the logcat. I have been trying a lot for this, but unable to find the exact solution. Please Suggest.

    Maybe we should ask why developers have been using notification ads instead
    of blaming them for it. The purchase rate is still very low on Google play
    compared with Apple appstore. Everyone that I talked to last year said that
    the only way of getting any real revenue from Android apps is advertising.
    Some content types, like Live wallpapers are not suitable for banner ads.
    This left the developers with no other monetizing options than notification
    ads and app icons.

    It seems however that push ads and app icons will not be allowed after
    31/8, so we will see what happens then. You should however not blame the
    developers for notification ads!

    Hello!

    Do you know if OnPreviewFrame (as of Android 4.0.3) is correctly
    implemented in Samsung Galaxy Nexus? I have programmed some code that works
    perfectly on a Galaxy S3, but in the Nexus, the byte[] buffer, which comes
    with the call to OnPreviewFrame and should have the YUV data, has 0s in all
    the Y channel, and -128 in U and V (that is, plain green, if I'm correct).

    getPreviewFormat() is returning a 17 as expected, meaning that the preview
    mode is actually NV21 (the same as the S3 on which it works).

    I know there are some hardware-dependent issues with raw camera data, so
    maybe that is the explanation? I have been searching but I have found
    nothing related.

    Thank you for your time!
